Kudos to mentors! Thank you to my first professional mentor - Mike Parker-Brown, or as affectionately known as Spike.
As a 19 year old, I met Spike at my first professional gig after college at Garuda Indonesia as a graduate Marketing Assistant. Whilst I was as green as they came, Spike took me under his wing from both a professional & personal perspective, & showed me the way.
Spike is one of Australia's best travel journalists & PR executives who has represented a plethora of travel brands including Garuda, Hong Kong Tourist Board, Tourism Fiji & the Australian Trade Commission.
I fondly look back to those times & I'm grateful to Spike for the skills & experience that I gained in terms of marketing, public relations, customer experience, project / event management & the power of communication. He also showed me how to be humble.
